Since I’ve been in every restroom from Ft. Lauderdale to Japan (so far) I consider myself a bit of an expert on the topic. Japanese restrooms are by far the cleanest with signs saying “beautify the bathroom “. Signs showing you how to sit on the toilet- don’t stand on the seat. Built in bidets, little flush and big flush, warm seats, and buttons to push for music (privacy). Never any graffiti in any of them. Wow! But always a line to get in. I haven’t had to use an eastern style one yet and don’t plan to unless I HAVE to.
